1974 Carrera

SUNSHINE

This USA spec '74 911 Carrera, Chassis No. 9114400397 is one of just 528 coupes.
This Carrera is in very good to excellent condition.
The 911 has had some paint work during it's life, which is not surprising for a 38 year old car.
The interior is almost completely original. The original radio isn't there, but we are searching
for an original style Blaupunkt radio/cassette. The engine and transmission appear to have been
serviced and well cared for. The transmission shifts smoothly without any of the normal signs of
wears. The engine runs very strong and smooth. Although we don't have records showing the full
history of this it's definitely easy to see the car was cared for.

Over the next few months we will caring for the car even more. Some things can stand for some
improving and somethings just need some servicing. Some of the things that we will be doing.
       • new exhaust - currently has an aftermarket sport exhaust. - light weight but very loud!
       • Full major servicing - cap, rotor, fluids, etc, etc, etc
       • Cosmetic items
       • radio
       • A/C
       • and I'm sure much more.

We will start with the Radio. The car came with a crazy high dollar 1986 sound system.
Although cool in it's day it's not very useful today. We think an original style unit would be best.

The 1986 premium stereo system has to go.

Ready for a new old radio. Searching for the original replacement radio.

Thanks to Kendall Daniel for removing the stereo and getting thing back to the original trunk.

PAINT: Time to detail. We will be detailing throughout the process, but I thought I would get
    started on the paint.

This is the fun part. Polished off 30 years of wax, paint imperfections, and oxidation from the          original paint. What a difference!! The original paint is in very good condition and after polishing
was much brighter. It's smart to a good coat of wax on these older paint finishes, but sometime it's
good to polish off the old dirt, wax, fading paint, etc so you can get a good coat of wax on a clean
    paint surface.
